Abstract: During the reconstruction and expansion of old oil and gas stations in oilfields, there is cross phenomenon between some new equipment and facilities and the original ones. In the process of safety evaluation of the reconstruction and expansion projects in the station yard, such issues as whether the original equipment and facilities need to be evaluated or not, how to determine the safety distance between the new equipment and the original one, whether the original power supply and firefighting system in the station need to be evaluated or not often puzzle new personnel in safety assessment industry. This paper analyzes the difficulties in safety evaluation on reconstruction and extension projects, which provides reference for other practitioners.
