Abstract: Natural gas compressor is the key equipment in natural gas transmission pipeline. The building workshop has lofty rooms while natural gas compressor has relatively high working pressure. Once leakage occurs and accumulates in the building, it may lead to fire, explosion and other malignant accidents. For this reason, the relevant national and industrial standards have made mandatory provisions. Through the use of reliable combustible gas detection and alarm device, the concentration of combustible gas in the plant can be monitored closely to ensure safety in production. However, due to many factors affecting the layout of combustible gas detectors in the natural gas compressor plant, there are some problems in the setting of detectors in many workshops. Therefore, effective detection cannot be achieved. This paper investigated the installation of combustible gas detectors in dozens of compressor rooms in China, and found that most compressor rooms has defects in the setting of combustible gas detectors. Starting from the analysis of natural gas leakage and diffusion state, this paper puts forward the setting concept of combustible gas detector in natural gas compressor room, hoping to attract the attention of relevant designers and managers.
