Abstract: The petrochemical industry operates in complex processes and high-risk environments, where electrostatic issues have long been recognized as critical safety hazards. This paper conducts a systematic study on electrostatic hazards in the petrochemical sector. Starting with analysis of charge generation mechanisms and accident case, it performs an in-depth investigation into the relationship between electrostatic accumulation and environmental factors and expounds the hazard characteristics and operational patterns. Furthermore, it reviews multiple mitigation measures including grounding, shielding, humidification, neutralizers, and monitoring/alarm systems, highlighting their advantages and limitations. Based on this analysis, the paper proposes design principles for optimized hazard mitigation systems, develops integrated multi-technology solutions and validates the feasibility of the approach through experimental and performance evaluation methods.
