Abstract: Oil field separator is a key facility to realize efficient three-phase separation of oil field produced liquid. However, due to the complexity of crude oil composition, there is an inevitable problem of corrosion inside the separator. Therefore, based on the internal environmental characteristics and corrosion status of the oil field separator, the corrosion behavior of different parts of the separator is determined by corrosion rate, corrosion morphology and open circuit potential. The results show that in the aqueous and oil-phase environment, the metal mainly exhibits the characteristics of comprehensive corrosion with a few local corrosion points, while in the sedimentary phase environment, the metal exhibits the characteristics of pitting corrosion and the corrosion degree accelerates with time.
