Abstract: To strengthen the safety management of double horsehead pumping unit is not only the inevitable requirement under the current severe safety situation, but also the embodiment of the policy of "safety first, prevention first". This paper aims at the current operating status of double horsehead pumping unit in oilfield, analyzes the ontology risk of pumping unit structure and fault types in operation. FMECA is adopted to divide the structure and function of the double horsehead pumping unit, analyze the possible failure modes of the risky parts of the double horsehead pumping unit, and evaluate the potential failure causes and the existing safety protection measures. According to the evaluation results, it is concluded that the double horsehead pumping unit should be phased out and replaced. Aiming at the double horsehead pumping unit currently in use, this paper puts forward some suggestions on equipment transformation and safety protection in order to explore effective measures to reduce the risk level of each component of the double horsehead pumping unit and provide guarantee for the safe production of oilfield enterprises.
