Abstract: In recent years, with the expansion of heavy chemical industry distribution and the increasing number of hazardous waste disposal enterprises, environmental safety accidents have occurred frequently, which have posed a serious threat to the stability of social security and stable production. Hence, it has become the focus of the society to solve the environmental safety risks caused by hazardous wastes. On the basis of objective analysis on recent major environmental safety accidents, in-depth understanding of the importance of hazardous wastes supervision was obtained. This paper proposed to form systematic thinking from such aspects as project approval, pollution prevention, monitoring and supervision, publicity and education. By intensifying the reduction of hazardous wastes at the source, improving the transformation and upgrading level of waste production enterprises, realizing scientific and effective supervision of waste production enterprises, and raising the public’s awareness of environmental safety, all environmental regulatory matters are ensured to give full play to their due effectiveness. Thus, environmental safety risks caused by hazardous wastes were defused and those caused by human factors are eliminated.
