Abstract: The United Kingdom started the offshore oil industry very early. Its legal system for offshore oil environmental protection management is complete and the system is relatively sound. The environmental protection management of its offshore oil companies has long been regarded as the industry benchmark. This paper introduces in detail the British offshore oil environmental protection laws and regulations and the various procedures to be carried out during the offshore oil production operation. It analyzes the regulatory characteristics of the British offshore oil environmental protection, and compares the laws and regulations with the current domestic offshore oil environmental protection laws and regulations. Then the paper puts forward some targeted opinions and suggestions in expectation of practical application in the subsequent practice of offshore oil environmental protection management.
