Abstract: The report at 19th CPC National Congress has clearly stated that we must speed up the construction of ecological civilization and build a beautiful China with clear waters and green mountains. Therefore, it is necessary to do a good job in identifying and controlling environmental risks and protect the ecological environment effectively in the process of oil and gas exploitation. This paper discusses the sources, causes and harms of environmental risks in oil and gas exploitation process. It points out that the environmental risks in oil and gas exploitation process are mainly oil and gas leakage risks, fire and explosion risks and legal liabilities. Based on the analysis and discussion of environmental risk factors, the paper brings forward the risk management and control measures.
