Abstract: Safe construction of petrochemical projects is related to the safety of national property and people’s lives. This paper analyzed the shortcomings of common safety supervision work in petrochemical projects. Aiming at these shortcomings, it proposed such solutions as adhering to the guidance of party building and national laws and regulations and improving safety supervision and management continuously; strengthening key areas and implementing special rectification measures; emphasizing personnel training and cultivating safety management team with strong business skills; optimizing the system, clarifying responsibilities and stressing the importance of responsibilities; focusing on management of areas with frequent hidden dangers on sites; enhancing contractor management and carrying out emergency drills regularly and so forth. The paper suggested that enterprises should explore the safety supervision mode suitable for their actual situation in order to maximize the elimination of hidden dangers in the onsite construction of petrochemical projects.
