Abstract: Aiming at the issues of unclear classification parameters and inconsistent calculation methods for hazardous area classification of explosive gas leaks in the petrochemical sector, this paper analyzes the different classification approaches under API standards, national standards and industry standards. It examines methodologies for hazardous zone division and the calculation formula of gas leakage release radius and conducts three-dimensional simulation analysis of zoned areas. Then the paper develops the visualization software for hazardous area and dispersion radius calculation of explosive gas leaks. This study provides significant operational guidance for enhancing safety in petrochemical sites handling explosive gases.
