Abstract: In the process of material transfer in the tank area of the Storage and Transportation Joint Workshop of Petro-China Dushanzi Petrochemical Branch Ethylene Factory, on-site VOCs and odors exceed the standards because of the big storage tanks with small breathing emission volume, especially the big temperature difference between day and night in Xinjiang. During the high temperature period at noon, the withdrawal loss of storage tanks may cause the instantaneous increase of material gasification in the tank which will escape to the atmosphere through safety accessories such as tank breathing valve and emergency pressure relief manhole. To meet the specification requirements of the GB 31571-2015, the storage and transportation joint workshop adopts some control measures based on the local conditions covering nitrogen seal modification, concentrated suction and incineration for the storage tank, equipping the breathing valve of alcohol storage tank with gas collecting cover washing and updating the high-efficiency breathing valve and emergency pressure relief manhole so as to ensure the VOCs<4mg/ L at on-site perimeter which meets the expected management and control effect requirements in the specifications with high standard.
